"As a guitarist, Anton Apostolov possesses outstanding technique, remarkable stylistic adaptability, and an amazing creative facility. I have the pleasure of playing and performing with Anton on various occasions and in various settings (e.g., at the American University in Bulgaria), in all of which he was personally and musically well at ease. I was impressed by his real ability to organically combine the complex rhythmical structures of his native Bulgarian folk music-a genre in which he excels-with the most diverse jazz-styles. The various albums he has recorded with his ?Acoustic Trio? bear witness to this unique, highly interesting blend of genres, yet, Mr. Apostolov also convinces his listeners ( and his fellow musicians!) as a classical as well as a ?pure? jazz guitarist. I can only express my high regards of Anton?s musicianship, his great instrumental proficiency, and his warm personality that finds direct expression in his music.?
